    • There were 19 thousand for Home Opener against a team the 19 thousand thought would be a win.  The Rice game had a certain camel to straw relationship with fans, I believe.  I say, the attendance drops to 15 thousand Miners fans/El Pasoans out for a nice evening/sadists/masochists.  Remember, it is a Friday night and high schools in El Paso play better football so seriously, 15 thousand might be a stretch.  Add maybe a thousand Arizona fans who aren't there to see football, they are there because of players families, some sadists/masochists and such.

    Announced attendance will be oh, right around 18-19 thousand.

    A really cool over/under might be on how many will be in the stands at the start of the fourth quarter.

    I would but I already have tickets to the older losers. It's weird but La Jeff has always been a basketball and baseball school. In the 60's Jefferson always fielded great Basketball and Baseball teams. We'd be playing Austin (the school with the White boys) in those two sports for championships. Like UTEP used to be, and now isn't, we were too. What was, isn't anymore.    :'(
