OPT: UTEP v Marshall

     I think they are as bad as we are, but we are at home.  And it may be our turn to win a game.  We played much tougher with Verhoeven!  And Verhoeven played much better than Vila who didn't play.  Boum had a very good game which means he will probably disappear and Terry will probably play Vila.  The Crazy Train makes unexpected stops which makes it pure luck when trying to pick the winners and scores.  My first pick this morning was just on general principles.  My changing it is because it seems to be time for the opposite game.  If Terry starts Vila and plays him the whole game the pick above would probably be back to Marshall winning.  It seems that Terry uses a Ouija board to come up with his lineup.

    Trust the process.

    • I don't know a thing about Marshal except that they're playing in our playground. Everyone seems to think they're as bad as we are and because of that I'll root for the Miners to win. It'll be close because that's who we are. Even when the other team is bad we seem to like letting the other team play us close. Sometimes we barely beat DII teams...in our house...with our fans. Tsk.

    • all of a sudden I just found 2 2018 fb opt banners  The last time I had to start over with this edition of the Den it was a massive, complete do over from scratch and it was hard to get things right again.  Then add to that the fact that people aren't all that fired up to discuss 0 or 1 win football teams and basketball that is a shell of its former self AND my lack of intensity that mirrors my advancing age and the Den has suffered.  I apologize.  The less I do, the less I can screw up.

    • Could it be that no one won the OPT against Marshall because everyone predicted that the Miners would win? That means I won another OPT season. Wow, I can't believe that that's the high light of my season instead of getting excited about the Miners winning the conference or something.

    We've gone down a whole bunch and it ain't pretty. I feel sorry for my Miners. It's as if you're watching your kids playing and not being very good and you wish you could raise their morale. It's a sad feeling for everyone including the coach, players and fans. Tsk.

    Like we like to say about football and now unfortunately we can say the same thing about basketball, "wait 'til next year".
