    UTEP wins this one, 27-17.
    One of UTSA's scores is a pick six from Kai throwing a screen.  In fact I predict he averages one pick six per game for the rest of the season.  But UTSA can't stop our running game.

    • UTEP is favored by a point and a half!  Think how UTSA must feel?  Is that even like bulletin board material?  People are picking UTEP to win and they may even be right.  Could the Miners be on the brink of a breakout win and the beginning of a winning streak?

    Honestly, Vegas is just saying two god-awful teams are playing, so the home team should squeak out a win.

    For me though, I think this game is a should-win, and also a must-win.  Win this and we could have a 3 or 4 win season.  Lose this and we're still the worst team in football with one win against an FCS school.

    We may have sub-FCS talent, particularly at QB, but coaching has to count for something at some time.  Lose this and someone needs to lose their job.

    • I honestly think the administration has taken the Harvard of the Border seriously and don't really care if the football team wins.  Sure, winning would be nice but that isn't what UTEP aspires to do or be.  We are a Top Tier University.  The players better have good grades.  I felt like the new president's words rang so hollow when she said the football program is the front porch of the university at the beginning of the season.  If she believed that she would be pissed off to the fucking bone that that our front porch is the nastiest looking out of 130 or whatever it is now.  I believe it, though.  And that is why I am as pissed as I am.  The beautiful inside is seen by the world as the worst in the entire country!  Sorry, I know, I am not being a supportive fan on my own fan site.  I hate me, too.

    • IDK, she just stepped into this mess.  And she has an AD and head football coach that are very early in their contracts that she didn't hire.  So far we are feeling good about his basketball hire.

    I'm sure she sees no point in publicly showing anything but optimism.  There's not a lot she can do for a couple years, and publicly throwing them under the bus would achieve nothing except further erode players trust.

    • I know.  I just wish I had heard her acknowledge that ours was a horrible mess, that it smears our wonderful institution, and that by God she intended to get the damned front porch fixed.  But, I didn't.
