  • Maybe I missed it, but I haven't seen any comments on the football team getting a verbal commitment from a 3 star WR out of Houston.  That is both surprising and encouraging.  They had to have convinced him somehow that there would be a QB next year that could put the ball in his hands.

The cynic in me says they’ll convert him to a DB and he’ll have a better chance of getting an interception than catching a pass as a WR.

But I am, it is hoped, incorrect.

This is the best, yet!  Good thing I wasn't drinking my coffee.

  • using your logic, his best chance of catching a pass from a UTEP QB is to go to an opposing CUSA team.

And isn’t this exchange the best part about being a Miner fan?  The Theater of the Absurd has nothing on UTEP football.

  • Poll time:

Is UTEP football a Greek tragedy, a British farce, or a Monty Python sketch?

  • Well, at this point, I find the humor of silliness to have gone past silly to just plain stupid and just plain stupid is not funny at all.  UTEP football is more of an adventure, exploring new, creative ways to be bad.  Three Stooges without Curley.  Maybe the Freak Show at a carnival from the early 1900's.  That's not funny.  That amusement at the expense of others.  Not funny.  They don't have those kind of shows anymore.  Like beating our football team isn't even fun to watch for the visitors because of the laughing at a cripple aspect.  You don't yuck it up when a big guy is beating up a sixth grader with special needs.  lieb's point is what UTEP football is.  Absurd.  That should be the one word theme for UTEP.  Since we can't seem to be anything but ABSURD, we should make it our thing.  Celebrate it.  No one in the world can lose like we lose.

It is like the Marianas Turkey Shoot, all promise for the Japanese but no results.
