  • Agree. 4th year should be better than this.

Kimani Young, top asst at UConn, would be good imo. Does a great recruiting job and would likely upgrade the roster in a hurry and significantly.

  • Yep. Fire his ass. Tonight was inexcusable. His inability to recruit and develop big men has been abysmal.  Four years is enough.

  • Agree but going by previous hires by the AD he'll keep him another four years.

I give the Miners an A+ for effort, they have a LOT of heart but a C- for skill, they're not too good. They miss a lot of easy shots under the basket. Time for Golding who recruited them to find another home.

  • I think this topic needs to be moved up. The once proud owners of the National Championship are now equal to and no better than Abilene Christian slap fighting Northern New Mexico. And worse, nobody cares!  There was a time when  UTEP was relevant. Now?  Football is going through the motions of going through the motions. Basically for the sake of going through the motions. Basketball is even worse.
Someone at one time said Wilson was trying. Results?  They steam for themselves!  And she knows that it makes the university look bad. I see no evidence of any attempt to make the corrections and only see us getting worse.
Someone convince me that I am just old and cranky. The old part I will give you.

  • For the first time this season I watched a Miner basketball game with either indifference or resignation, maybe both.

  • I stopped watching both sports and I'm happier for the decision.  And I'm sad that I'm happier.

I was a fan of the Golding hire and I was wrong.  IDK what the next coach needs to be but I have no confidence in UTEPs current leadership as far as athletics goes.

LOL, I was telling my sister the exact same thing. She said that I was only watching the game because I was already paying for it through subscription and she's right. I was on the computer at the same time. Those poor guys can't make a one foot shot...something every high school kid excels at. I'll continue watching knowing that they'll lose. Like I said they have a lot of heart and a mediocre skillset.

  • Damn.  Seems like we would have heard something by now.

I?m done with UTEP athletics.  I?ve followed them for over 40 years and they quit on me so I quit with them.  If Football gets to 6 wins I?ll tune in

  • I will say this. The ncaa turning college amateur athletes into semiprofessionals crossed a line for me, as does the money now being just excepted. SMU Death Penalty for what is SOP today?  NCAA?  Oh, and the ncaa allows men to play women?s sports!!  My give a shit has been truly tested and it is fading fast. UTEP seems to have decided that they are not going to play the game and I almost have to ask myself why would they?
