SHSU vs UTEP prediction thread 10/25/2023

I am going to be happy with the result of this game no matter who wins.  But, I would like SHSU to win their first FBS game.  If it has to come at the expense of UTEP (and Dimel), that is fine with me.

Even when picking against UTEP vs anyone else, I always wanted them to win. Now, I may actually have to hope they lose out just to ensure that Dimel is replaced. Painful.

I watched a guy who on my street as a kid I would have described as playing football against a defense that was acting like they were playing football-kind of. They almost were watching the plays instead of playing football and trying to win. I watched 4 or 5 defenders encircle a receiver-all about four yards away and they watched him catch a pass for a first down. Any of the five could have broken up the pass if they were playing on the street I grew up on. I think it may be an indication that they have all packed it in and aren?t going to hurt themselves trying.

I'm with Wisconsin here, I'm hoping for a new coach and if he wins his pal will give him an extension. I actually think that Shsu has a good enough team to win without the Miners giving up.

It won't be a high scoring game because Shsu doesn't have that offense to begin with so it's a hard prediction.

Mojo is right about Sam?s offense.  While the D is FBS-worthy, the OL is not quite up to that standard.  Two of our best OL players left in the portal last year.  Consequently, Sam usually has a 2nd and 8 after the first down running play gets stuffed.  The Kats had two very good receivers, but one got hurt in preseason and the second tore his ACL against Houston.  Sam?s QB is decent, but not as good as the one?s they?ve had in the past.  And, in spite of SHSU?s record this year, their HC is better than Dimel.

We lose games every week and I hate it but if we could just lose this one to get rid of Dimel it would be taking one for the team. The loss of the game would be no more painful than the rest but for a good to come from it would make it easier to get to wins in the long run.
