Last night BW looked right, which I feel like he hasn't for a while
Kennedy found a way to contribute. If he can keep this up we have 5 guys that can all contribute significantly on a given night.
By the time Bienemy is done here, we may be considering him as one of the legendary PGs at UTEP. He is that good. Currently 4:1 assist to turnover ratio while scoring well and very good defender. Like a Julyan Stone with more scoring.
Agnew the spark plug #6 to help keep energy high and coin flip whether he helps you much. Funny though, he always seems a bit out of control, but has very few turnovers.
Sjolund and Hess to come in and hit a few 3s just to give the others a breather, but they hurt you too bad on defense at this point. Similar situation with Efe and Onyema. Totally lost on D too often.
We play a very aggressive defense that is sometimes going to give up a wide open layup just because you committed to a steal and didn't get it so other guys have to cover. That's fine and I can live with that. I really hate how often we get beat on a pick and roll however. It's obvious that Terry has no idea how to deal with that.
It's really nice to see that all of our guards are willing and able to drive the lane and cut the lane for passes. This is an added dimension to our offense that only Boum had last year. It gives me some better feels about those games when we are struggling from 3.
I really feel like when we are playing well, we are a top 50 team. Problem is the games when we aren't playing well. If we can get more consistent over the course of the year we have a shot at winning the CUSA tourney.
I am kind of buying into the Terry philosophy, just wish he had better Xs and Os. Be nice if he could find an assistant to help with that.
