OPT: UTEP v Rice

    • This is the team Kugler wants to emulate.  We have gotten better at running than them and we can pass a little.  Our Achilles Heel is still the defense.  It is really hard to tell against the perhaps best passing team in college football, but I do think we might be a little better defensively than last year.  I am always hoping.  So, the defense will decide this game.  We get two points for making Rice travel and they are maybe a little discombobulated so I think we get a win.

    I picked 27-24 in my preseason pick but I think the two will get a few more points on the board that I first thought.

    UTEP wins 31 to 28

    Defense has to learn how to tackle. Their tackling in the Okie game was atrocious and the defense was very slow too.

    The Miners & Rice lost horrible games this weekend. The Miners played a way stronger team and lost by less. We win battle of the knuckle heads. If we don't win this game, we are going to have a long losing season on our hands.

    • I was so hyped for UTEP after their opening drive. I thought, damn, we have an offense. But it was against one of the best teams in the country. Other G5 schools seem to be able to compete better vs teams like this but not UTEP. Not since Price's last season.

    Both of these teams basically looked horrible in their openers and both coaches need to win this one badly to avoid and o fer season.
