  • We have all picked UTEP to win.  The Miners are 12 points dogs so if they win there will be huge points awarded.

  • I had a win as an underdog on one game.  Big points swings are possible because of the points rules, for any underdog win.

Yeah, if most of us didn't prognosticate with our hearts instead of using our brains we'd be tough to beat. It's funny to think that the Miners would win any games, the HBU doesn't even count in my eyes.

  • I believe, since all of us picked UTEP to beat Rice in the last game, that there is no way for the scores to change enough to change the final outcome.  Basically, I picked UTEP to win the least amount of games for the season and that was the difference and even I didn't pick them to lose as many as they did.   I understand that trying to pick a whole season of individual games is a tough proposition and perhaps eliminates a lot of the analysis that many use to predict game scores.  Yet, it may actually be simply a different way of looking at the team on a macro level.  Some might say it isn't very valid, but I disagree.  I think it is just a different way of looking at the team.  For next season, the question will hinge of a belief in progress or lack of as the basic premise to consider.  Maybe the only real factor to consider, and each of us can analyze that in our own way.  I thank those who played along.  Unfortunately, constant losing leaves just the discussion of how the losing happens, so we end up with discussions based on who was best at figuring that out.  Like Mojo said, most of us pick with our orange colored glasses on.  I guess I won because more than others I finally just gave up my faith in my own team.  The victory is a painful one.  Looking ahead to next year, those who play will have this season to help them in their picks, for what that is worth.

  • This is exactly how I won this Challenge the first year you offered.  I pretty much picked us to lose every game and (perversely) I won.  I didn’t enter the following year because we’d hired a new coach; I didn’t enter this year because I let the deadline pass.  If Dimel is still the coach next year, I’ll try lowballing the predictions again.  As, I’m assuming, everyone else.  May the best worst predictor win!

  • But what if Dimel finally unleashes HIS dogs of war and they tear off their redshirts to run wild on the competition?

Wake up, wake up Ky, you're tossing and turning in your sleep.

We need magic pills to hand out to the FB team for that to happen Ky.

  • Do you mean to tell me that once Dimel starts playing his players instead of Kugler's no-talent players we aren't going to start beating the pants off of other teams?  I feel so misled.  Dammit!  So, how many games do you think we will win in year three with Dimel's plenty talented players hitting the field.  I think you only get 1 FCS tomato can every two years(?).  Not sure, anymore.  But we should win 7 or 8 games next year with Dimel's Diamond Diggers finally beefed up after two years.  Right?  I hear we have a shot at winning the Time of Possession Trophy, next year.  I may have to work on a trophy for Dimel-the Sean Kugler Run the Clock To Win a Prize trophy.  I can picture it now, a scoreboard that displays Time of Possession where points would be!

Btw, would anyone like to know what Dimel said in his Monday press conference?  Already heard it.  Don't care.  Head Coach Speak bullshit dissemination program.  We were so close...or how about but for a play or two here and there...ah, fuck it.  I am going back to sleep and see if I can dream up a win.
