It?s too late for that. It?s getting close. No one thought we could be this bad. Everyone picking a bunch of wins. Miners fans are like hostages with Stockholm syndrome. Only a Miners fan would look at Ken St at 1-8 and say they are better than their record looks. We just won a pillow fight with a fellow sissy and it was a real duel to decide who was the bigger sissy. I strongly suggest that you don?t go brag about the big win to anyone. Not even miner fans. It was more like two ten year old girls fussing. The fact that it was a fair ?fight?(fussing mostly) is horrible. We barely were able to be competitive against a 1-7 fcs-elevated team!  Even by UTEP standards we used to be a basement dweller. We now are renting the basement of a portapotty.  Most of the fcs teams that have moved up would beat us. The fact that they are equal to us when we have been at our level for a hundred years has to tell you something. Screams that we couldn?t possibly be as bad as we are if we were really trying. Nope. Winning has never been anything more than, ?That would be nice?.  Senter has done a fine job hasn?t he. Who knows?  His job can?t possibly involve winning as a criteria.  I mean other than nmsu can you name another school who has been as bad as UTEP in the last fifty years?  I mean take away a national scandal that forced us to hire a good coach that forced us to win, we quickly go that shit out of the way so that we could return to UTEP football.  Two and ten, baby!  That should be our motto. When other teams raise there hands and four fingers for the fourth quarter, we should raise both hands and signal Two and Ten!

I still have an open mind on Walden.  He's recruiting well and that's a good sign.  Next year they need to start looking like a team that's seen a football before.  I'm still not watching them until I see that they can beat bad teams.

You're perfectly right about everything and Senter is lucky that fans don't choose the ADs. He'd be fired a long time ago. The presidents we've had don't care either even if they show up in Utep t-shirts at the first game with the team. Like Cisco's sidekick Pancho used to say, "they have no brams". Either that or they don't really care. I think it's a little of both.

What upsets me is that it escapes them that we have the perfect storm here in El Paso. Utep is our Nfl team and it's been proven time and again that they will support the team but it has to be a winning team. We here in El Paso can't afford to be throwing away our money for lousy football. If you win they will come and fill up the Sun Bowl every home game. There's money in dem der hills surrounding the Sun Bowl but its leaders are too stupid to realize it. Like I've said before, you can't fill up the SB with the back up singers you need to get the Top Billing and that takes money, it's an investment so to speak.

If it wasn't for the fact that I love Miner sports and especially football I'd tell the president to just give up on football and even now basketball but it would also kill me not to look forward to the games and expect a loss.

In the olden days the media would be calling for some heads to roll. Nowadays nobody even asks about it. You and I know that there are hundreds of thousands of miners fans that are pissed off to the bone and not only is there nobody saying anything about it, it is downright beyond strange. I am completely aware of the biting of the hand that feeds you power that UTEP has over the reporters. I get that. But, damn!  I?m not crazy or unreasonable. This is bullshit by any measure and I ask you to name five other places as bad that do nothing. UTEP is not broke and is a fucking gold mine with known veins of gold in both the sun bowl and the Don and they being mined by amateurs. Amateurs looking for quartz crystals if it wasn?t for the damned yellow dust fucking things up. I will say that Senter has to look at what he has done and not be impressed with the results. Unless he was told to down size the stupid athletic department.
