    • UTEP finally got them last year, but has always struggled with them at their place. However that Boise win was huge and I think The Miners continue to build on their success from that and the Charlotte game. This might be a defensive battle but I think UTEP gets it done.

    This is a tough game for UTEP given that they just made a very long road trip, turn right around and travel again while La Tech was off and had the rest and the extra week of preparation. If the Miners win this game it will be well earned.

    • We started the year as pass happy.  NMsu was balanced offense from UTEP.  Now, we have gone run happy.  The thing is, LA Tech is ranked 128 out of 131 teams in rush defense.  Trouble is, we don't run very well.  We are ranked 103rd.  What will blow your mind is that UTEP is ranked 31st in passing yards allowed.  LA Tech and NMSU were in the top 52(LaT). too though.  I think it means the other teams were just running it up your ass.  LA Tech is ranked 34 in passing offense.   So, we will try to run, and they will try to pass.  We aren't great at running but they are really bad at stopping it, and they are good at passing and we are good at pass defense because people usually just run on us. 

    Dimel wins this one.  He gets the perfect opponent to be absolutely hardheaded about running the ball on.

    • I assume we will blitz a lot to try to force quick throws.

    Like I said in the other thread, running is fine if it's working.  But you can't just go full Kug.  Basically against Charlotte we were walking up to the line and saying "Hey we're gonna run between the tackles behind our fullback.  Try to stop us."    We can't keep playing Kug ball.  Gotta mix it up.
