  • Obviously this year is totally FUBAR for scheduling.  But what we're doing now we should do every year.

Have a couple tuneup games, then play anyone anywhere.  It doesn't matter if we lose 5 road games to teams in power conferences.  RPI or whatever they are using now means nothing.  CUSA will get one team and one team only every year -- whoever wins the tourney.  Playing tough games on the road helps us prepare for the only games that matter.

You may even win a couple which gets you some notice by recruits.  Hell, just playing those teams helps you get noticed by recruits.  Just not getting blown out by Arizona made a difference to our guys mental attitude that set them up for this one.

Dominating San Angelo Middle School does nothing for us in any sense except for the first one or two games where you're just trying to focus on executing your O and D without concerning yourself with your opponent.  Playing schools of similar quality to yourself does nothing to help you.  Playing the best teams makes you better.  And then when you are playing in CUSA, all of a sudden those teams are so easy to beat.

  • That makes complete sense to me Sisy, but I'm not the one making the schedules. If only those people read your post and also agreed with you everyone wins. Let's hope that they did.

    Good post.

  • You mean to tell me that beating fifteen schools with directions in their names from New Mexico doesn't mean you're really any good. lol Every team in Cusa should have the anyone anywhere anytime-the tougher the better. Not that any of this actually matters. Money changes all of it to shit.
