It seems tome that for most of the season we were a one trick pony-get the ball to Williams. Then, teams figured out that if they stopped Williams, they stopped the Miners offense. A few games back, Edwards either took it into his own hands or Terry finally out of desperation stopped trying to make Williams the center of the universe. Edwards showed that if left open and given the green light not to be a feeder, he could feast, himself. In the last few games, Williams has become a powerful link in the team instead of the team and the guards have stepped up, led by Edwards. Some may say that this is what Terry had been wanting all along, but I don't think so. I think there has been a change in the whole offensive game. Williams is no longer the first, second, and third option. A balance has been found. With it, the Miners have become a very dangerous team. With an inside AND an outside game teams must defend the entire half court which also creates fast break opportunities. UTEP is a very different team than it was 7 games ago. am a little afraid that the balance may have swung a little too much to the outside, the perimeter, but we will see. It is a lot more fun to watch, that's for sure.
