We are shooting 29.5% from 3 this season, good enough to rank us 307/353.
The midpoint team at #175 shoots 33%.  The best 25% of teams shoot 35%.

If we shot at 33% we would have 2 losses on the season -- at Houston and at Hawaii.  The Hawaii game would have been a one point loss, and arguably may have gone differently.  We were outrebounded substantially in those games.

All the following stats are per minute played
Our best offensive rebounders for the season are Stroud and Tarke. 
Only looking at conference play, our best offensive rebounder is Stroud and our best defensive rebounder is Tarke
Highest turnovers -- Tarke and Stroud, but not by a lot.  the whole team contributes well to that stat.
Highest blocks -- Tarke and Stroud
Highest steals -- Tarke

Unfortunately, there is not a great stat that is a proxy for completely losing track of your man while on the court.  If there were, I think that Vila and Edwards would win those, with Efe and Verhoeven close behind.  Edwards can play great D, in fact Edwards can play great everything, but it seems like he is just lacking the intensity to do it all the time except in games he cares about.  He seemed to start the season intense 100%.  Is it the chemistry issue?  Is that just how he is?  As the oldest player it would help if he set the tone in that area.

I did notice turnovers were under control as well as rebounds. We just had shitty perimeter defense & we still cant sink open jumpers.

I guess this is kind of cliche but i think 3 pt shooting is mainly mental.  These guys supposedly shoot well in practice, and I have no reason to doubt it.

The thing is, the best 3 pt shooters in college are still going to miss more than 50% of their shots.  You can definitely get into a state where you are no longer confident in your shot, but I don't think some of the guys have lost their confidence in their shot.  My guess is that it's that they are afraid of missing.  It certainly doesn't appear that coach is going to yell at them for missing unless they take a really stupid shot.

I suspect a few reasons.  One is the hard to define "flow of the game".  YOu know it when you feel it, and I think it's why Edwards is better on a fast break.  We don't have any flow to our offense at all.
The second reason I think is because they feel like they *need* to make the shot -- either to stay in the game or to climb out of the hole they put themselves in.  So mentally they are not in the right place.  I also feel like if they had confidence that there would be an offensive rebound and a chance for a putback there would be less fear of missing. 

Houston BTW is #1 in the country in offensive rebounds.  NMSU is # 27.  FAU is #70.  We are #280

Was reading on another site if we win in Florida if CRT is coaching.
I say no. CTF had great inbound plays, 10sec drills, and new how to set up a pick n roll for an open shot in his back pocket. CRT has no pockets in his suit. He trusts in play makers to make plays. The plays he has are a bit predictable. Like get it to the big guy & let him eat.
