    • Oh well, why procrastinate, here's my score for the game:

    UTEP will win and I'm hopeful that Terry got his act together and that he kinda scolded the players for a lousy game against, dang, I even forget who we beat. Anyway, the other game with the other guys.

    I wasn't going to say it but, since Mojo brought it up, I might as well.  If I were to give a letter grade to this team I would say C+ maybe a B-.  We are good enough to finish probably 4th in our conference.  When I said the only way we are going dancing is to win the conference tournament, it wasn't just saying we are a one bid conference.  Our only hope is to knock off a team or two in our tournament.  This team isn't blowing out teams it should.  Against Cartel teams we would be getting whupped.  A good team, not a great team, a good team would whup up on every team we have played and beat some Cartel teams to show their strength.  I hope I am wrong, of course.

    I hope we get our offense figured out.  I do think we might be overreacting a bit though.  Our defense is very good, and will win us a lot of games, including potentially some big ones.

    That said, unless we sweep Houston and the tourney, we have no chance of an at large.  Even if we do sweep them we probably have no chance at an at large.  Even if we went unbeaten all season we probably have no chance at an at large.  that's just the way the NCAA is now.  I hate it and it's not fair, but that doesn't change anything.

    • Sisy, if our defense was as good as you say why did the Enemas beat us under the basket so badly. I wouldn't call them very good, I'd say so-so good as we almost lost to Eastern Central and Western University in our own field house.

    • Agree that we were dominated in the paint that game.  90% of that was Eric Vila, to my eyes.

    Our scoring defense is #25.  Our field goal % defense is #47.  Our turnovers forced is #28.  Our 3pt FG defense is fairly bad at #134.  We are good defensively.

    Unfortunately, offensively, our turnovers per possession is #306 in the country.  Our 3 pt FG % is # 325 in the country. 

    We have some good offensive stats as well, but these two stats hurt us offensively.  A lot.
