Has anyone gone to any Spring practices or game? I was reading on another site that we dont look good and next year might be a 2 win season.
From what I read, we are loaded up with JUCO's and our defense looks good because our offense is behind.
Not a good start.
As I've said in the past, I will not re-new my season tickets for football until I see improvement. I've already supported this team through last 4 seasons of Price, Kuglar, & last year and the team kept sinking into a hole. As if to say we could care less. I've tried supporting and now I'm going to see if not supporting works.
The stuff you read from Bigwood has substance with Bigwood style. He has access to the coaches and department and guards his info closely. UTEP sports has put a six inch steel lid on stuff getting out to the public (something that plagued Stull towards his latter years) and Bigwood just gives basic facts. We try like hell to get stuff out of him but he doesn't bite.
So what you read has weight, but you need to filter because everyone all over this town is so down on UTEP football (and basketball) that the actual improvements don't shine in fully and second, Dimel went to what he does best, use JUCO's, and that can be great, a total bust or "eh'.
UTEP will be hurting at LB spot and once again (year five or six), the D line looks iffy. Strength? New crop of db's looked good. Same ol, same ol? KL's arm. (from what I read, it appears and strongly implied he still looks down his receivers or too much air underneath.
