  • I heard that Texas Tech is coming to the Don for an exhibition game vs the Miners next season. Is that true?

  • I don't know, but that would be cool.  I think we have played them in scrimmage or exhibition the last few years, so it wouldn't surprise me.

  • The answer is YES. It is 100% a friendly & it wont count, but to play a team that was just in the final is fantastic. The place might sell out.

They are going to beat on the Miners defensively just like they did this season. He'll of a team they have.

  • I wanted to add that this year should not discourage you from the future of the team. I remember Billy Clyde's 1st year was horrible, then the next year they beat The Harlem Globetrotters. That win was the turning point of that team. The game didnt mean anything, but it did at the same time. I am waiting to witness that turning point game. I think this will happen next year.

  • The Globetrotters game didn't mean anything in terms of record or standing, but you are correct it was huge.  It told everyone that we were for real and we could beat anyone.  The other game (I think it was the same season) was the beatdown of Rutgers.

We need something like that early to give us confidence.

  • Not gonna lie guys. I am expecting big things from this year's upcoming season, from this team. I really liked our freshmen class that played this past season. I think they will be ok.

  • If I remember correctly, our turning point game in Barbee's last season was Oklahoma. The Miners put avbeat down on Kelvin Sampsons Sooners.
    Someone check my memory?

  • You're probably right Chanson. I do remember that game.  And looks like CRT found his new assistant coach in Kenton Paulino. They coached together at UT

I think a lot of this can be linked to the fact that Derrick Character became eligible mid-season and one week before that OU game.

I doubt that Archie will have as big of an impact as Character did(at least not in his first year), but next year Archie will be joining the team mid-season at roughly the same time that Character did.
