    • Next years’ seniors and juniors at the HS I teach at are already getting scholarship offers. Alabama, Oklahoma, TCU, Arizona, grambling and multitudes of other small schools. UTEP has not visited once although the head coach has contacted them. He played DB for UTEP (Jahmal Fenner). UTEP is missing the boat on some good talent.

    • I started wondering about the football program a couple of seasons back.  I started wondering if Lady Di was putting a thumb on a scale or something.  I would like to read their contracts.  I tried looking and found that Dimel got nearly 200 thousand more than Kugler(boy, what a deal, huh?) but more importantly, I found that Kugler made a 24,611 in bonuses.  I WANT TO KNOW WHAT HE GOT A OR ANY BONUSES!

    "UTEP released a memorandum of appointment, not a full contract, for UTEP’s new football coach for the 2017-18 financial year. The memorandum (for the 2017-18 fiscal year) states Dimel will be making a salary of $700,000 to start.  The memorandum does not provide any information on bonuses and other incentives for Dimel."

    Why the fuck don't we see the contract?

    This is what I found on Kugler and the bonus was probably for APR;
    Base compensation
    2017 guaranteed pay: $289,541
    Total contract pay: $2,198,236
    Contract length: 7 years
    Start date: 1/1/2013
    Last amended: 9/28/2015
    Expires: 8/31/2020
    Incentives
    National title bonus: $100,000
    Conference title bonus: $24,128
    Conference regular season division title bonus: $24,128
    Misc athletic-based incentives: $24,128 for each win after 6th;
    Coach of the year award bonus: $24,128 for conference coach of year; $48,256 for national coach of year
    National poll bonus: $24,128 for final Top 25 poll.
    Academic bonuses: $24,128 for multi-year APR of 930
    Car: two cars
    Golf/country club: country club membership.
    Other Perks
    Buyout if coach leaves for another coaching job: $289,541

    This shows a base of about half of what he made the last season.

    • Man, I need to negotiate a National Title Bonus in my next contract.  Sure, chances of getting are on par with Dimel, but incentives are incentives!  And since next year is my last at SHSU, I’m ready to go all out.
