Question on scholarships

    • I was looking up rules for D1 schools on how many scholarships are allowed for basketball. It said women are allowed up to 13 while men are allowed up to 15. Calculating the mens team for next year, I came up with 15 total. That is if everyone stays and all recruits come.

    My question is, why is UTEP's men limited to 13?

    My guess would be either Title 9 or UTEP got in trouble in the past and NCAA lowered to 13. Maybe I read the rules incorrectly. Can someone help me with this?

    • I think you have it backwards.  It's 13 for men and 15 for women
