  • Who is on top of the depth chart going into training camp at QB?  Ryan Metz or Greenlee?

  • I would think Metz would be at the top. This new QB out of NM is tough to see. I'm thinking he will be a great back up.

  • We're loading up on QB's we have the kid from Eastwood, and the kid from Austin, Texas and if I'm not mistaken a kid from Cali.

  • I really don't enjoy being a pessimist but there is a reason we have to load up on quarterbacks.  There are the running back quarterbacks and there are the "passing" quarterbacks.  The predictability when they are used is key here.  Meaning the opposing defenses all know exactly who to key on when a running quarterback is put in, like he's going to pass unless it is already too late and then he just becomes a target for abuse, or the passing quarterback who is in the exact same position as the running quarterback.  Both of them are put in positions that are literally dangerous to their health.  Metz has already suffered too many times of having his bell rung, and Leftwitch's dad
I really question his good sense.  Quarterbacks are always an endangered species in this system as long as other teams are able to get the lead by scoring easily on the Miners' defense.  If that has not changed, the offense will very slowly, methodically dig itself a nice hole for three quarters and then put poor bastards in impossible situations trying to dig their way out.

  • Like they say, when you have multiple QB's competing for that starting spot you really don't have any standouts.  Did Mack Leftwich quit playing football?

  • Well if your a throw first qb with great runner instincts then that would favor the Torrez kid from Eastwood and this kid from NM.

Yes. The kid is coaching at a high school here in El Paso. The kid was too small and didn't know how to avoid hits. I was at the NMSU game when he got drilled. It was one of the most brutal hits I have seen. "He got JACKED UP!"
