  • UTEP is a three point favorite. The miners have a real chance. That, my friends is the sorry fucking state of affairs at UTEP. We have been playing what was considered serious football for a hundred years. We have a slim chance of winning a game against a 1-7 team that just became a team at ?our level? this year. Well, there?s always basketball. Yeah, really. Who?s worse, Wilson or Senter?  Can it be that they are as bad as I think or is there something I am missing?  I mean I have watched UTEP football for forty years or so, and we have been pretty bad for many of those years but the past 10-15 years have just been terrible. A bad Price team would have won the conference championship this year against this schedule.

  • As I understand it an AD has two jobs -- raise money and hire coaches.  I don't know how Senter is at raising money but I feel like we would have heard if the money was absolutely pouring in from donors.  As far as hiring coaches -- the results speak for themselves.

Wonder if Mike Price would be interested in AD?  I bet he could raise funds from donors.  He'd have to agree not to hire Aaron however.

You do know that Kennesaw State beat the No. 1 team in Cusa, right? I saw the game and they were very good. They will beat Utep too. As a matter of fact I don't think Utep can play at their level. I predict a KS win.

  • Mojo, notice that I said that the Miners have a chance. They are favored by three. I will not be predicting a win for UTEP. I think they are probably the better fcs team.
I doubt that Price would take the job especially with that limitation. lol Too bad, because he was ?The Man?. Charming, and could sell UTEP and El Paso. His son Eric probably would be head coach and Aaron would be OC. That is how it works in the coaching fraternity. Consider it a family business and not nepotism.

Btw, Eric Price also would be winning the conference title this season. I would bet a hundred bucks on it.

  • I would kill to have Eric as head coach. I don't want Aaron doing anything but QB coach.  If Aaron as OC is the price (pun), I'm not willing to pay that.

Now Aaron Jones as HC might get some talent in.

  • Thing is, with Eric you?d get Mike Price as an unpaid consultant. That is worth the price of admission(see what I did).

  • It?s not though.  We saw the results of Aaron as an OC.  He was awful.  We sucked and Mike got fired.  We saw him as special teams coach.  They were awful.  He was a great QB coach

  • Aaron already works For UTEP

Aaron Price is the Assistant Athletic Director for NIL Strategy & Sports Excellence at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) and serves as a staff liaison for NIL collectives. In this role, Price is responsible for:
Identifying Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) opportunities for student-athletes
    Managing sport-specific fundraising initiatives
Serving as a major gift officer within the Miner Athletic Club

  • sweet.  he can stay there.  Mike can be AD.  Eric can be HC.  In the future Aaron can be a candidate for AD

I don't mind him working for us at all, I just don't want him in a coordinator position or higher.  And this not based on a personal dislike, I've just seen the results and no desire to repeat.

  • Well, it?s settled then. No need for a committee or search. I didn?t realize it but he was the Hanks hc for a couple of years. Aaron that is.  The first sell out of the Sun bowl will pay for the wasted salary of Walden. Hell, he can stay on as head cheerleader and coach the punters or something.

  • Apparently Eric Price is OC at Tulane right now.  That seems to be working.

  • He could use a raise and come home.
