  • I just watched one of the most fun games I have ever seen.  Coach Sanders let 65 of his players find somewhere else to play and brought in players who wanted to play for the love of football.  They just beat TCU.  And it was Prime Time's son setting records at quarterback.  It also tells me just how much a head coach CAN do.  And what one can also fail to do.  I am wondering if my wife would let me go tryout for the Colorado team.  I want to play for Coach Sanders.  I'd go to war for that kind of coach.

You watch.  He did it with his handful of players and a bunch of transfers.  Wait until the top players want to play for him!  This iis going to be fun to watch.

  • I doubt there's been much love of the game at UTEP since the Price era -- other than a few individuals whose spirit could not be quenched.  Kug ball and Dimel ball have to be absolute spirit killers.  knowing that no matter how hard you play the coach is likely to lose the game for you has to just kill you.

  • Having coaches snatch losses from the jaws of victory like you say is soul catching.
