UTEP's 915 Campaign for Football ticket sales

    • I'm sure everyone on the board is aware that 2.5 weeks ago UTEP started a campaign to sellout the home opener vs UNT. Recent attendance would indicate we would be lucky to get 20k for that game but with 10 weeks to go the UTEP manager of ticket operations says the stadium is 52% sold. With the Sun Bowl's new capacity of 46k that means close to 24k are sold. I had thought that with good promotions and marketing they might reach 30k for opener but with 10 weeks left 40k is very possible. Anyone think they can sell this out?

    A 40k plus crowd and a win would be very impressive for fans and recruits.

    • I think fans are itching to love this team but they have been burned so many times that they need to see it to believe it. I think 35k for the opening game in this climate would be good enough to provide a helluva home field advantage. A win will set the tone and feed the beast.

    •  > 30k would be a nice boost emotionally as well as financially.  Open 3-1 and there might be a sellout for Boise. 

    I've been saying that butts in seats matter.  Even if you don't make more money it matters to the team, it matters to recruits, it matters to opponents, and it matters to the fans that are there.

    • UTEP says > 30k sold as of right now.  This is actually a good marketing campaign that seems to be working.  Senter and his team have finally done something in that regard.  It will be on the team to take care of business to continue to put butts in the seat.  When they hyped UTSA we fell apart.

    • UTEP should ask Aaron Jones to donate an appearance and flash his now famous 915 hand sign. It could become as iconic as the pickaxe sign too.

    • UTEP says ticket sales for the opener vs UNT have topped 36,400.  Might just sell it out.

    • Wow! So glad I finally checked in over the summer and got to read this! If they are at that many tickets already, then a sellout is quite possible! I?m going to my tix tomorrow, hopefully?

    • Beat UNT and they may have a shot at a sellout against NMSU.

    Open 3-1 with a respectable loss to OU and they might have a shot at a sellout for BSU.  Win that one and it's off to the races.

    Win and people will come.
