    • As of today, I would say Liberty will own CUSA.  UTEP consistent 2nd.  This for a few years as the rest make a huge step up.  Two years ago I would have said JSU, SHSU, and god forbid any school with Dakota in their name would kill us.  But this year not so, and looks like built for the long hau.

    • The only teams I feel like would have been nice to keep is UTSA and UAB.  The rest are not upgrading the AAC.

    I think one of the posters on the other board has it right when he says the AAC moves were really about access to those recruiting markets.

    • If Jax St. brings their band I'm sure there will be many band nerds going to the game just to watch them. They would be entertaining to say the least and perhaps even the UTEP band director can learn a few tricks. I know when we had the previous band director the band was fun to watch and listen to...then he left. This new one went back to a humdrum program. I know I'll be planting some ear bugs on some of my familys band nerds...I have many, some even were drum majors in high school.

    Speaking of college bands my all time fav has been the Texas A and M band. They are great.

    • Apparently MTSU has announced they are staying in CUSA.  I think this means WKU as well.

    Still significant geographic footprint, but several teams have someone within reasonable driving distance.

    UTEP - NMSU
    WKU - MTSU
    LT - JSU

    Certainly a competitive mid-major hoops conference, and intriguing in football.

    • One of my sons lives in Shreveport, which is about 3 hours from Huntsville.  Ruston might be a 4 hour drive.  This makes me think LT and SHSU are closer than LT and JSU.

    But point valid that it's not a horrible drive for SHSU

    Jacksonville State is located in Jacksonville, Alabama.
