Hey, we just signed a 6-2 guard transfer from N Alabama that shot 26% from 3 as a freshman and 35% as a So.  67% FT shooter.  He has a negative assist to turnover ratio.  So you can see he is going to be a solid improvement over what we lost.

Another mercenary.  They come and they go.  They have no loyalty.  If things don't go his way, boom, he gone!  Again, Terry doesn't build.  He collects and trades players like I did football cards when I was a kid.  Right now, there is a player considering leaving because Terry brought in another transfer.  Like the subway, some get off and others get on.  Another year of "developing chemistry" and getting to know each other.  Another year of Terry looking for the "right combination".  Another year of players having no allegiance, no care for UTEP.

I think the NCAA makes it too, too easy for college players to transfer. They should at least be forced to remain for a certain time before leaving. Maybe two years, like it or not.

Looking at Terry's recruiting record, he doesn't recruit point guards. He's all about picking up athletes & SGs & turning them into court generals. It hasn't worked so far. I just hope this JUCO player can pass & has a higher IQ than Hawkins or Lathon.

It looks like Adam Hess 6'6" SG JUCO transfer has signed with UTEP. Kid is a top 3pt shooter for JUCO & his team ranked #4 overall.
This is what we needed to fill Edwards shoes on the scoring side. I just hope his drive & defense is just as good.

This appears to be a quality addition.  CRT's offense requires hitting from the 3.  I suppose all do, but this last year was really rough.

We badly badly need a PG.  Agnew isn't it.  Nobody with an A/TO ratio < 1 should be considered.  A good one is 2:1 or better.

So, this Sjoland kid coming is a good thing. The kid comes from Katy TX & went to a 6A championship as the teams SF. Well, reading the other posts & confirming with a knowledgeable contact, a kid from OK Jamal Bieniemy who is the PG is transferring out & UTEP is high on his list. I was looking into why and what coach has been really aggressive. Well, I'm not sure which Assistant worked him, but he was team mates with Sjoland in Katy TX that is coming from Georgia Tech. Both kids from TX.
I looked at some film on Bieniemy. He is an athletic PG that can shoot, drive, & most of all, pass. His Fresh year at OU, at 1 time he was top 5 in nation for not coughing up the ball. That means the kid can pass. What I'm scratching my head on is why the kid is leaving? OU is a great program with some real talent.
What ever the reason, 1) he would be a fantastic get, & 2) he would fill the PG position that is desperately needed for this team to be complete.
The kid is 6'5" & ESPN gave him 4☆s. I don't know if he'll be eligible right away or have to wait a year.
I hope Terry has about 4 other PGs he is looking at.

This year again, on paper, the team could be pretty decent.  Too bad they don't play on paper.  After last season, CRT has a lot to prove.

Nothing going on in regards to sports. Not even on the recruiting cyber trail.
If football does happen, it will have to be spread out. Luckily we went have an issue with that. I think we should have a vaccine by the time basketball hits.

So it looks like CRT scored on that PG OU transfer Jamal Bieniemy. 6'5" 185lbs 4☆ out of high school. He will have 2yrs of eligibility, but (big but) he will have to sit out a year because of NCAA transfer rules. Unless we see the NCAA give exceptions because of Covid, it looks like we still need a PG to play 2020-21.
Fantastic pick up, but playing a year after Williams has been removed means deeper rebuild years. Fingers crossed that this kid gets an exception.
Try to YouTube this kid playing for OU. He looks like Julyan Stone, but quicker & can shoot.

Happy to see this in a cautious sort of way.  As always when he steps on a court in a regular season game then we will see.  Got burned too many times by Floyd on guys not still being around, and by Terry doing whatever the hell it is he does on the court.

Interesting note, recently signed JUCO SG Emmanuel White played High School ball in Katy TX with recent transfers PG Jamal Bieniemy and F Kristian Sjolund. Chemistry should be good with these guys.

Two more scholarships to fill, I believe. Hopefully Agnew, Bieniemy and Sjolund can get waivers to play this season.
