  • Actually I liked the 3 point line because it was an accomodation to the existence of guys like Wilt that made guards just caretakers.  The three was designed to bring the guard back into the game.  I really don't mind the shot clock either.  If you can't generate a decent shot in that amount of time you don't have an offense anyway.  It's really the lack of defense and lack of officiating that is annoying.

  • I'm 100% on board with officiating. That walking crap is comical.
How do you defend KD, Lebron, Curry, Hardin, Thompson, Kawahi, Shaq, Kobe, Giannis, etc. If you foul they kill you on the charity stripe. Depending on the severity of the foul, the defender is out $ & games. (Not the case in the 80's where you could knock a player out & play tomorrow). If you double team, they assist. The defensive rules then & now do not accommodate a superior offender.

Let's use KD as an example. 7 footer who shoots like Pistol Pete, has ball skills like Hardaway, drives like Lebron, defends like Bowen, & passes like Stockton. On top of that, refs turn a blind eye on walking. Even if refs lock down on walking, there is no defense for teams loaded with those players. You can make same argument for the ones I listed & then some. (Zion)

The only one I can think of is crapping in their Wheaties & hope they have an off night.

Superior defense- reacts quickly & cuts off strengths.
Superior offense- is always a step ahead.

The original rules of the game were made based on the current talent level & updated human limitations. Humanity has evolved passed those standards & rules need to be changed & some enforced to challenge current talents.
So it's obvious defense is going to fall behind.
