  • They didn't quit.  The defense did all I could ask for them to do.  The offense, showed that it could move the ball.  Locksley missed a few wide open men, but I also saw receivers not doing the things receivers can do to make catches.  For instance, coming across the middle of the field, the receiver had his man beat and could have slowed just a bit and the ball would have reached his outstretched arms, blocking the defender with his body.  Instead he kept the speed, reached the ball almost into his chest where the defender could reach it and break it up.  Just a few plays, but there were plays that could have made huge differences in the game.  Plays that change games and teams.  We missed some today, but we played like a football team that deserved to be on the same field with the Vols, today.

  •  I agree.
We're getting better every game. We played 5☆ kids & held our own. Our QB needs to tweak his game, but our defense played like a boss. Our offense could not convert which made the defense tired.
I like the direction, so far.

  • Maybe so, but we do need a D1 caliber QB and Lockley is not it. I'll still go to the games as I have season tickets but I don't think we can even beat the Aggies without a QB. Coach is going to be stubborn like Kugs and continue thinking doing the same thing will have different results. I'm not sold anymore on this great Lockley guy that was supposed to be good and he isn't.   :'(

  • Usually by the second half, cabal 5 teams wear down our defense.  It's a credit to them that they didn't give up against a superior team and they're able to hold their heads up high.  Offense?  Needs some work.   8)

  • The Miners played well, they didn’t give up.  During the pre-game show one of the announcers predicted a 50 point blowout by Tennessee.  Hopefully the coaching staff can keep them from getting discouraged and have them ready to play the aggies, a very winnable game.

  • If we can generate an offense we will win but so far we haven't shown any offense. If the Miners can pressure whomever is the QB for the day on the aggies offense then we can stop their offense. Their offense does show glimmers of proficiency but not like last years team. The aggies tried using 3 QBs because none of them were able to have a continuation of their offense as they would sputter. 7 of their points was from an interception so in reality they only had 10 points to their offense. Their defense's weakness was the run in my opinion and short passes which Lockley can't throw or long passes for that matter.

If we win it'll be because of the defense, nothing else.

By the way, where's the OPT for the Enemas U. game?

  • I think what Locksley needs to do is skip classes (or have someone go in his stead) and spend more time watching film of defenses and practicing patterns with his receivers.

Maybe he needs glasses. Metz is worse.

  • What do we have to lose if we play someone that is not on the radar? I've heard fans say that this Fernandez kid has a bright future. Try him out it's not like Metz or Locks are setting the field on fire. One likes to pass it to the other team and one likes to pass it to the turf. Neither one fits the bill.

P.S. I heard that the game would be on television in the local area, is that true? I'll probably be at the game though. I was asking for my wife who can't go.
