Verbal Commits has him listed as enrolled and Digs is using language that the kid needs to finish up Summer 1 back in JUCO to get here. I think there are two keys to this season being successful. 1 is to establish a good PG. We have some good kids pushing for that position, but nothing has been established. 2 is Williams. This kid is a scorer and a hustler. Lots of Vince Hunter qualities in a shorter package along with scoring skills. This kid alone will open up the offense by establishing his scoring ability and will open up other kids to score.

Not to disagree, but in my opinion, the top two keys to this season are:  #1.). Matt Willms must stay healthy, and #2.) Matt Willms must stay healthy.  Everything else comes after.  Our turn-around last season happened at the same time that Matt got healthy and began actually practicing for the first time.  That was also one of the first times during his many years at UTEP that he has been healthy.  He has All-Conference potential this year and there would be a big difference if we lost him again and had to depend on just Jones & St. Pierre at Center.  Having a veteran and legit 7 footer is a game changer, especially in a league like CUSA.

As for the status of Williams, Bigwood at Minerdigs stated that he will be here for the Summer 2 session.

Willms will be a big part of it. That part I agree with, but we had Artis as the PG. Without Artis, the team had 0% chance in coming back. A distributor/scorer makes everyone else good.

Sometimes we all like to guess what the starting line up would be, but I have to scratch my head on the PG position. Touchet has the most experience, but is really a shooting guard and should be Omega's back up. I really don't know if Touchet will be pushed into the position so McGee & Gilyard have a chance to shake off those rookie blues or which Freshman will step up at the D1 level.

That being said, I am confident that Willms, Omega, & Thomas will be starting. Flaggert should start at 1st, but if one of the new kids start to light it up, CTF is well known for not starting starters for not performing.

I'm with you, Gumby. We have 3 studs in Thomas, Omega, & Willms. Those 3 alone should make for some competitive games.
