I saw a lot of heart from the Miners. They really wanted this win. Congrats to them and may they continue on the winning path.
One thing that I saw from Walden was when Skylar threw the interception which led to an Fiu TD, Walden took him aside and talked to him. He didn't just slap him on the rump and tell him good job.
I think that after every game the coaches should have film of the game and show where mistakes were made and how to fix them. Penalties could be part of that session, like unnecessary holding where a good run is brought back because of a block in the back or a holding call where it wasn't even in the field of play. Instead of making it a "ha, ha, here's where you screwed up" session, this could be a way of showing them that they really screwed up without shaming them. Before long, the players will rue that "learning session" because it will highlight how badly they screwed up. Coaches should show them how not thinking on the field also screws up a good play, like when that lineman went for the knees and negated a two point after TD. Or how Skylar threw that interception where Fiu was able to take advantage and score a TD. "Little" things like that. jmho
Ps, I really enjoyed watching that game.
