Very few fans expected this, that is, a high scoring game. For me this game was ambivalent, I wanted the Miners to win but I dreaded that too because that meant that it gave Dimel a chance to take a deep breath from being fired. After so many years as head coach he still can't send the plays to the team and has to call a time out. This almost cost him because at the end he almost ran out of time because of that same reason I mentioned. With 18 seconds left he had to get everyone in position for the field goal, and it was lucky that they were able to.
He's bad but I see that the AD is partisan and coach can't do a bad thing. He'll get an extension at what cost though. More losing seasons and a fan base that will give up on the team.
The next games are losing ventures with WKU, Liberty and Middle Tennessee. They might has a slight chance against Middle but I doubt it. Their QB is much better than ours who I might add is miles better than Hardison but not at a high level. He. Is. Slow. Part of that problem is that he anticipates the hit and slows down/stops. He is not a physical QB unlike good ones that will make the defender fear a hit too.
The next coach that comes in, if ever, will have his hands full in the QB department. He'll probably keep some only because of time restraints, i.e., needs more time to find a good one perhaps a Cartel QB that doesn't want to sit on the bench like Salter and would rather play in G5.
