    • IF we were to beat Northwestern, and I'm not picking that, Dimel would have then accomplished several things that haven't happened in forever including a win in the eastern time zone and a win against a P5 team.   Would that sway anyone's opinion about him?   If not, what would it take?  Would anything sway you?

    • Interesting question. We were told to trust the process. Well I don?t know what the process is but if it means win five or six games  after every three or four years of two or three win years I don?t want to trust it anymore, even if it does mean beating the worst maybe ever team in the cartel. But it would be better than losing.  Dimel is the UTEP version of Dimel ball of football administrations. Grind it out, bumbling along going nowhere and running out the clock or in this case the contract. The metaphor is amazing!  Dimel and Senter are UTEP football and UTEP football is Senter and Dimel ball.

    UTEP beat Charlotte last year in the eastern time zone so that's done plus NW is in the central time zone. Beating even a bad P5 time would be a boost and might boost UTEP's chances of having a bowl season. I think it will take a winning season and a bowl win to change most fans minds about him.

    If it's a losing season I would love to have the Texas St OC as our next HC.

    • No chance in Senter firing Dimel. In fact, if Dimel even breaks .500 he might get an extension and a pay raise. I have no confidence in either the AD or the coach and I'm tired of wishing.

    Not really but I would be happy to have the bowl monkey off UTEP's back. I really want a coach that thinks like Bobby Dobbs who coached at UTEP in the 60's and who said football not only needs to win but should be entertaining. Mike Price did a good job of both and that's why I would like to see Leftwich coach at UTEP.

    • Totally agree with all of you.   I don't think Dimel will get fired unless he has a 1 or 2 win season and maybe not even then.  But he may not get renewed.

    I think Dimel's ceiling is 7 wins.

    I'd give Leftwich a shot with lower base pay but high incentives.  Wish we had his boss Kinne, or Rodriguez
