  • Rough first half for us. Lots of turnovers. No one seems able to create their own shot. I like our defense so far, though. Some questionable calls. Let's see how the 2nd half goes.

  • Moody Center was impressive.  Definitely made for a basketball atmosphere.  Not a bad seat in the place.  Only complaint is the cost of drinks:  $17 for a Tito's Vodka or $8 for a beer.

  • I liked what I saw.  I think we are going to win a lot of games.

  • I liked our rebounding and effort last night. Thought our guys played some tough defense but got beat down the floor after missed shots a couple of times. Points were tough to get at times against their bigger team.  Still, they in the game only down 8 with about 10 minutes to go.  I didnt see any quit in them at any point in the game and i liked the bench enthusiasm. Was it just me or were our guys having trouble with their footing on that new floor?  Overall, i think they held their own and we got beat by the better team. I'm enthusiastic about this squad and what they showed last night.

  • The Miners need time to become a cohesive squad.  They're still getting used to each other.  They hustled, played tough defense and missed a lot of shots.  But it should get better.

I couldn't watch or listen to the game, so I appreciate the additional detail.

  • After the game the Texas coach said UTEP looked like a team that will be in the hunt for a spot in the tournament. High praise. It's only 1 game and our team should only get better. Can't wait for the Aggie game Saturday.

  • I think the enemas U. game will tell us how good we are. Unfortunately for us they've had our number. I don't know why they can recruit better players to rinky-dink town and we can't in an 800k city.

  • Probably because they go to the tourney nearly every year.  Their coaches have been better Xs and O guys for a very long time.

Also probably because (in my mind) the conference they're in is second rate? I wonder how they'll do in the new cusa.

  • One thing that UT did at the Moody Center, they put the student section at courtside for 270 degrees of the 360 degrees area.  This includes behind the team benches and both baskets.  It really adds to the atmosphere.
