  • Haven't seen this kind of defense since Haskins was alive. At the start of the year my wishlist consisted of a win against NMSU. Congrats to those kids. They're putting in the work and executing. Could not be prouder of them. I hate to be selfish, but cleaning up a couple of mistakes on the offensive end and they would've absolutely smashed LT.  My next wishlist item is a winning season by this team.

  • I know SA, we could have pinned more points against la tech than those 19 points, if only. I know that it drives fans nuts to see those stupid mistakes at the opponents end of the field but I can just imagine the guy who gets paid, the coach. You need the patience of Job to see 3 drives inside that zone and then watch your offense just wanting to give the game away...anyway it seemed like that to me. It reminded me of past Miner teams where it seemed like they just didn't want to win. If it hadn't been for the defense it would have been exactly like that. The offense should be thanking their lucky stars and especially the defense for saving their butts. I'd be buying pizza for them if I was the QB and receivers.

One thing that stood out from the very end was that the Miners were 7 point dogs to la tech doggies and yet we managed to beat them by 16 points. That's like the Miners actually beating them by 23 points. Whomever bet on this game made some good money.

Like I've posted before I see a different Miners team then years past, this team DOES NOT GIVE UP. They keep pounding the ball and even with stupid mistakes the defense comes to their rescue and the D is tenacious, (hey, where's Tenacious D, he disappeared) and they showed it last night. The dogs were inside the Miners 20 yard line a few times and the D took the ball away all those times. I was livid, I couldn't believe those mistakes and the coaches better have a good talk with those that committed them and...soon.
