68 67 ACU
I have a question for you all. Is this team better than last year's team or worse? Has the talent level gone up or down from Terry's players? Is UTEP basketball getting better, worse, or staying the same?
I will say that when you are in the scrap heap of a conference put together with have nots and wannabes you don't really have to worry about being left behind, again.
espn analytics for the winner
67.1% ACU UTEP 32.9%
ESPN says his old team is better with him gone to UTEP. Would they have picked ACU with Golding to beat Terry? Against a normal team we would consider at our level we score less than 50. Against teams we used to consider beneath us we have a chance. Not a great chance. Just a chance.
Merry Christmas!

Seeing that the Miners are heading to ACU I'll give the game to them. Maybe their coach will teach ours a few things about basketball.

Yeah, it?s looking bleak lately, but I think this game will be a good measure of how their season will go.
So having said that, here?s my optimistic hope that all is not lost:
UTEP 75
ACU 69

UTEP 79
ACU 75
I think we could easily lose, but I would not have picked Terry to win. Terry was a much better recruiter but I still do not think he was a better coach. His teams always looked lost and confused. Golding's team knows what they are trying to do they just struggle to actually do it.

Ja, ja, ja, that's Mexican for Ha, ha, ha, by the way. The only good thing about Fake Gold's teams are that they love to run around the roses and the bad is that they do not put up any points...because they can't.

There's Mexicans in Norway? Hm, interesting, in the southern part? ;)

The first year I started teaching, the students did not believe I was Mexican. So I lied and said my Parents were from Norway. They believed that. I even put up a bulletin board with my fake Norwegian roots. Fifteen years later, my students are still shocked when I tell them I'm Mexican and that I lived in Cd. Juarez until I was seven when my Dad moved us to El Paso. My dad was born in Mexico City and my mom in El Paso where I was too. My brothers and I never went to school in Juarez. We crossed the border every day to attend school at St. Joseph's Parochial School.

Now that you mention St. Joseph it reminded me of the dances held there for the teens. I can't remember the name they gave to the event, I think it was called the Spotlight. I have fond memories of the good times there. Funny, but I never got attached to any girl as a teen. I knew that dating or having a girlfriend costs money and I sure as heck wasn't ready to work full time. I figured in due time that would come and it did, LOL.

Both my grandmothers were 100% Norwegian. They grew up on farms in Minnesota and they Americanized their names ? particularly as their first names could have been mistaken for German. Clara and Wilhelmina. So they went by Claire and Minnie. Last names pretty distinctly Nordic though. knudson and Sanden. My great grandparents only spoke Norwegian.
Now my direct paternal ancestry is Welsh and immigrated to America ~1700 - generations prior to the revolution

Baylor Hebb becomes eligible today. We so desperately need someone who can shoot. A couple of long range buckets a game sure would help this team. We'll see.

Fire Senter. Fire Golding. Fire all of them.

Wilson, and anyone they brought with them.

Yeah, I had a bad feeling about today so I watched the Cows get their butts whipped instead. I'm done with UTEP sports until there's some evidence of change. If hoops suddenly turns around and is challenging for CUSA title or football gets to 5 wins with games left to play I might start paying attention again. Or I might just be done. I don't know right now.
I'll check in here because y'all are buddies but I'm not watching or listening to any more games.
