I grew up about 10-15 miles from Berkeley and Cal is a real basketball team from a really tough conference. This is as much of a test as we have seen. 

75-73 Miners and could easily be reversed.

Two thing are going against the Miners. One, they haven't been tested in an away game and two: I think Cal might have a good team this year (just guessing). But, I think the Miners defense has really improved from last year and they know how to finish games. They haven't been assessed a penalty for too much time like with Floyd. Gosh, I used to have fits because with Floyds team they waited til the last second to shoot and usually it was a wild throw to the basket. Not this team, sometimes they're over enthusiastic about shooting the ball with a lot of seconds left. I'm rooting for the Miners to win.

UTEP 83, California 65
