This is a Miners Hard Hat made of fine silver(.999) that I made to honor those who bring us the treasures the Earth gives us. In El Paso, it was copper, silver, gold, lead, and even tin. Today, my son Brian doesn’t mine for the treasures Earth provides, such as the petrified wood, agate, calcite, and others. It is about an inch and a half by an inch. $35
Category: Kyyote’s Vault
This is a collection of pieces of jewelry that I have for sale. It represents the journey I have taken in my pursuit of my goal of learning and using what Nature has given to me to use as a pallet to create works of art. Like any art, these represent the human touch and therefore, imperfections. These also represent different paths I have taken in my journey, from cabbing stones to faceting gemstones, to setting stones, to creating custom pieces.
Most of these items were cut and faceted in El Paso, by me. Some of the stones were collected here in El Paso by my son Brian Evans. The quality of the stones are best represented by the pictures. When shopping for diamonds they say to look for the 3 C’s, cut, clarity, and carat. I would say that character is the fourth C and that many of my stones best qualities may be their Character.
I am a novice and have much to learn and improve upon with my workmanship, which is a never ending pursuit.
Emerald Cut Apache Tear Ring
This is cut from an Apache Tear collected here in El Paso, Texas by my son Brian. An Apache Tear is lava glass, obsidian that didn’t flow. It blew up into the air in splatters the formed somewhat rounded droplets that cooled in the air before returning to the Earth. So, this ring reflects on part of El Paso’s rich geologic history. It was cut be me in an Emerald cut. I have mounted it a bit high in order to allow light to pass through it. The ring is a size 10 and made of Sterling silver. $60
Terminator Skull? Human? Something Else?
My study of the human skull has lead me to this one. It has a strong jaw, that’s for sure. A nice big piece of silver and my best skull, yet, I think. $50
