1.                   SOUTHERN MISS COACH TYNDALL HEADED TO TENN

April 21, 2014 10:21 pm ET

Southern Miss coach Donnie Tyndall has reached an agreement in principle with Tennessee and will be the next head coach of the Vols, sources told CBSSports.com on Monday.

A formal announcement is expected Tuesday.

CBSSports.com reported earlier Monday that Tyndall would be UT's target after Louisiana Tech's Michael White rejected an offer to coach the Vols. Tyndall, 43, has recruited in the SEC as an assistant at LSU, worked in the state of Tennessee as an assistant at Middle Tennessee, flourished in the region as the head coach at Morehead State, and won just as many games (56) the past two seasons at Southern Miss as White has won in the past two seasons at Louisiana Tech.

Furthermore, Tyndall is a big personality who has helped increase season-ticket sales at USM. He's twice inherited bad situations (not unlike the current situation at Tennessee), and both times turned things around quickly while winning at an unprecedented level relative to the program for which he was working.

Tyndall is replacing Cuonzo Martin, who left to be the coach at California.

2.                                  RICE'S SEAN OBI PICKS DUKE
CUSA'S LEADING REBOUNDER HEADED TO ACC

Rice transfer Sean Obi is off the board, announcing his commitment to Duke on Monday night.

Obi made the announcement via Instagram.

"Happy to officially announce that I will be attending Duke university for the rest of my college basketball career. Very thankful for all the support and love from my family and friends all over, and also to every college Coach that have called and been in involved with me through out this process. Duke it is!!"

Michigan and Vanderbilt were also involved with Obi.

Obi, a 6-foot-9 power forward, will have to sit out next season, but will have three years of eligibility remaining. The Nigeria native averaged 11.4 points and 9.3 rebounds this past season.

3.                               Mizzou eyes C. Missouri's Anderson

       By Andy Katz | ESPN.com

Central Missouri coach and Missouri alumnus Kim Anderson is a strong candidate for the vacant Missouri opening, according to a source with direct knowledge.

Anderson is being termed one of a few finalists for the opening, which occurred last week when Frank Haith left for Tulsa after three seasons.

The source said a decision on the next Missouri coach would be made within a week.

Anderson, 58, coached the Mules to the Division II national championship last month. He has led Central Missouri to three Div. II Final Fours with a 30-5 record this past season. The national title was the first for the Mules since 1984.

Anderson has a long history with his alma mater and the Big 12. He played for Norm Stewart from 1973-77. He worked for Stewart from 1982-85 as an assistant, left to go to Baylor as an assistant for six years and then returned to work for Stewart from 1991-99. Anderson then left to be an assistant commissioner in the Big 12 before leaving for Central Missouri.

Good. Let's face it, that guy had our number. I hope they replace him with Barbee so we can pack the Don when he shows up and wipe the floors with his ass.

            B.                                Missouri considering UTEP's Floyd

Updated: April 22, 2014, 11:58

UTEP's Tim Floyd has emerged as a strong candidate for the Missouri opening, a source close to the situation told ESPN.

Floyd, 60, has spent the past four seasons with the Miners and has a team that is expected to compete for the Conference USA title next season. Floyd also spent four seasons at USC and led the Trojans to three NCAA tournament appearances, including a Sweet 16 in 2007.

Floyd was also the coach of the Chicago Bulls and New Orleans Hornets in the NBA.

ESPN's Andy Katz previously reported that Central Missouri coach Kim Anderson, a Missouri alum, was also in the mix to replace Frank Haith -- who left last week for Tulsa.

I will never forget the Alamo.

I will forget to remember to remember it, sometimes, I think. But I forget.
